Did you reduced the colors or posterized the reference picture on photoshop? It sure looks like the then painting it on hand feels like painting with numbers, nothing wrong with that but could have blended the color better.
hey there, you're right: a crucial part of my process in transforming a photograph into individual stencils involves the 'posterize' function in PS. I certainly and deliberately go for hard edges to generate the typical 'stencil'-look...otherwise I would paint the picture free-hand . I totally agree with you on the color blend though (especially the face). This piece was quite a challenge to me and has proven once more how crucial it is to know your colors and in particular: mixing them. I'm quite happy with the overall result but could have done a better job in terms of color blending...no worries

OMG. This is amazing. You should consider making it able to be sold on canvas. I have an oriental themed room, and I'd LOVE this. Of course, it might be a while, but I'd still love to have this as a main piece on my wall. Amazing and gorgeous job. <3
